This weeks question comes from Minnesota. The question was should you wait for spring to install your water feature? Winter can be a great time to enjoy your outdoor fountain and water feature. Your fountain brings beauty & movement at a time of year when the rest of the garden is drab. Plus the birds will appreciate running water to drink since most water will be frozen. Once the water freezes at night with lighting your garden fountain will be the most spectacular landscape in the neighborhood. The basalt column fountain pictured at left has lighting in the top to light up the plume of water and up lighting all the way around. It glows at night. This week we had a question from Canada about our fire fountains. The question was about CSA Certification. CSA certification applies to the burners. Although we make up our burner systems using top quality materials they have not been certified by CSA. We do perform a leak test on all burners before shipping. We recommend performing another test on your end.
 If you want a CSA certified burner just let us know. We will be glad to use a certified burner in your fire pit or fire fountain.

Its been a while since our last post. We have been very very busy.
Here is a beautiful custom basalt column fountain. We designed this over a year ago for a large church located in Fairfax VA , right outside of Washington DC. It has a water collection footprint of 18'. We installed this in four days. We put disc LED lights in the top of each basalt column and it also has LED uplighting. We used a two pump system with an auto-fill to make it maintenance free. This water feature takes center stage as soon as you turn into this entry.

This week our topic is support. Our water features are a great DIY project. Just a couple hours and your garden can be transformed. We are here to help. Just today a caller from California that purchased a garden fountain from us and received their shipment yesterday and had a question. She was installing their fountain today and was able to call us and we answered several questions for her. She did not have to go through a call center and speak to someone who has no idea what a fountain is. We have made, sold and installed thousands of outdoor fountains over the last 20 years. We can work you through any questions you may have. As I have gotten older this has become very valuable to me when I buy something. I want to know that I can call and actually speak to someone that can help. How important is that to you? 

What to expect after you install your disappearing fountain. Disappearing
fountain systems are the lowest maintenance water features you can install.
About the only things we do to maintain them is once per week we treat the water by adding 1 drop per gallon of fountec. Fountec will keep the water clean, clear and mosquito free. Filling the basins with water is as easy as pulling the garden hose over and filling to the top of the grate. Some fountains need toping off every few days others every few weeks. The loss of water is usually caused by splash outside of the fountain collection area, so it's very important to install the correct size basin to match your fountain feature. We find we lose the most water on windy days. An auto-fill valve can also be installed on your water feature. We are the experts on all of these issues and we take all of this into consideration when you buy from us.
